Belgrade International Conference for the 25 years since NATO's war in Yugoslavia concluded successfully

Under the title “25 years since NATO attack – We do not forget”, the Belgrade Forum for the World of Equals and the World Peace Council organized on 21-24 March 2024 an international conference in Belgrade, commemorating the 25th  anniversary of NATO's criminal imperialist attack against Yugoslavia. On Sunday 24 March, Serbian and foreign participants visited the Children Victims of NATO Memorial at Tasmajdan Park, as well as the Monument of the Eternal Flame at the Park of Friendship, paying homage to the victims of the 1999 crime committed by NATO forces.

The major speaker at the Conference was Živadin Jovanović, President of the Belgrade Forum for a World of Equals who had served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia from 1998 to 2000.

Greece: Mass rally at the Ministry of National Defence against involvement in the imperialist war

A mass rally was held on Sunday 22/5/2022 at the Ministry of National Defence of Greece, the finishing line of the 40th Marathon Peace March, which had started at 8 am from the Marathon Tomb, conveying the message of opposition to the imperialist war, Greece’s involvement in it, and the country’s entanglement in the dangerous plans of NATO.

The march was organized by the Greek Committee for International Détente and Peace (EEDYE), which on the same day organized other mass anti-imperialist demonstrations in Thessaloniki as well as in cities in the Peloponnese, Thessaly, Epirus, Macedonia, and Thrace.

Thousands of protesters in Greece raised their voice against the Greek-American Military Agreement

Thousands of people, workers, students, pensioners, men and women of every age, participated on Thursday afternoon in demonstrations in Athens and other major Greek cities against the Greece-USA Agreement which upgrades and extends the existing network of US-NATO military bases in the country. 

The rallies were organized by the the Struggle Committee against the Greece–USA Agreement on Military Bases, with the support of the Greek Committee for International Detente and Peace (EEDYE), the All-Workers Militant Front (PAME), the Federation of Greek Women (OGE), numerous Workers' Unions and Associations, Students' Unions and other groups of the people's movement.

Thousands of people, workers, men and women of every age, participated on Thursday afternoon in demonstrations across Greece, against the Greece-U.S. “defense cooperation agreement” which upgrades and extends the american military bases in the country. The rallies were organized by the Greek Committee for International Detente and Peace (EEDYE), the Federation of Greek Women (OGE), Workers' Unions and Associations, Students' Unions and other groups of the people's movement.

POMPEO GO HOME: Thousands demonstrated against the visit of the U.S. Secretary of State in Greece

Thousands of workers, people of every age, participate in today's demonstrations in Athens, Thessaloniki and other Greek cities against the visit of the U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo

With slogans like "neither soil nor water to the murderers of the people" and "Close down the bases, no participation in NATO's wars", the demonstrators gathered at Syntagma Square in Athens. The protest was attended by the General Secretary of  the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Dimitris Koutsoumbas who, talking to reporters, pointed out the following:

POMPEO GO HOME: Greek anti-imperialists to protest against Mike Pompeo's visit in Athens

The anti-imperialist movement in Greece prepares a militant "welcome" for the U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo who is going to visit the country on Saturday 5th of October. 

Demonstrations against the renewal of the Greece-U.S. Mutual Defense Cooperation Agreement (MDCA) and the visit of Pompeo have been scheduled to take place in Athens, Thessaloniki and other cities. 

In a statement issued today, the Political Bureau of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) calls "the workers, the people and the youth to rise against the visit of the U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and mainly against the transformation of Greece into a vast US-NATO base".

Greek anti-imperialist movement calls for action against USA-Greece military agreement

In a statement issued this week the Greek Committee for International Detente and Peace (EEDYE) announces that it will undertake initiatives and organize mobilizations against the "Greece-USA Mutual Defense Cooperation Agreement". 

Under the slogan "NO TO BASES, NO TO NUCLEAR WEAPONS", EEDYE calls the people's movement to stand against the dangerous imperialist plans in the region, focusing on the upcoming visit of the U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Athens in the beginning of October.

20 YEARS SINCE NATO CRIME IN YUGOSLAVIA: Belgrade to host international conference on March 22-24

On the occasion of the tragic 20th anniversary since the imperialist attack of NATO, US and the EU against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the Belgrade Forum for the World of Equals and the World Peace Council (WPC) organize an international conference in Belgrade, on March 22-24. 

The conference, which is a commemoration "against forgetting the 1999 NATO aggression", is expected to be attended representatives from peace and anti-imperialist organizations from around 40 countries.

Greece: Successful event in solidarity with Venezuelan people, against imperialism

A successful event in solidarity with the people of Venezuela and against the US-EU imperialist interference was co-organized on Sunday afternoon by the Greek Committee for International Detente and Peace (EEDYE), the Greek Committee for International Democratic Solidarity (EEDDA) and the Federation of Greek Women (OGE) in Athens. 

The event was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Greece Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina and the charge d'affairs of the Embassy of Venezuela in Greece Freddy Jesús Fernández Torres.

Greek anti-imperialists honored the victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

Hundreds of workers, young men and women, members and friends of the anti-imperialist movement in Thessaloniki, Greece's second largest city, participated in a demonstration organized by the city's Committee for International Detente and Peace honoring the 73rd anniversary since the nuclear crime in Hiroshima and Nagasaki

Under the slogans "Americans, murderers of the people" and "the imperialists are rediving the earth, with the people's blood they are redrawing the borders", the demonstrators marched throughout the city's central streets and expressed their solid opposition to NATO and the imperialist plans, as well as Greece's participation in them.

Greek soldiers: “Our only enemy is NATO”!

Young Greeks who perform their military service in army camps at the region of Evros, in north eastern Greece, have expressed their firm opposition to the installation of a new NATO base in the port of Alexandroupolis. 

According to letters published at 902.gr portal, soldiers express their anti-imperialist sentiments, as well as their willingness to participate in the, organized by local peace committees, anti-NATO demonstration which is scheduled to take place on Sunday 11 February in the city of Alexandroupolis.

"Imperialists Out of Greece!": The 18th Congress of EEDYE to be held on 2-3 December in Athens

The 18th Congress of the Greek Committee for International Detente and Peace (EEDYE) will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of December in Athens. The Congress will be hosted at the City Hall of Haidari, west of Athens. 

For the preparation of the Congress, local peace committees across the country held meetings, discussed and organised the future activities of the antiimperialist movement.
